Jan KarltonThis website has been family-owned and operated since the mid-90’s. Back in the infancy of the Internet, Jan and Phil Karlton bought the meerkat.com domain out of fascination of the silly yet charming critters.

Phil Karlton was an accomplished software nerd. He worked for many years as a principal developer at Xerox PARC, Digital, Silicon Graphics, and Netscape.

Jan and Phil Karlton were killed in an automobile accident June 20, 1997, while vacationing in Italy. You can read more about this at karlton.hamilton.com.

They are survived by their only child, David Karlton.
